Meethi Chah Community & Peer Support Events
Living with type 1 diabetes can sometimes feel like walking a long, lonely road, especially for a child. At Meethi Zindagi, we believe that while medicine heals the body, community heals the soul. This is the heart behind Meethi Chah, our peer support initiative that recently traveled to Bahawalnagar, Nawabshah, Kohat, and Islamabad, bringing warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging to families who needed it most.
In the quiet corners of Bahawalnagar, where specialized care is often miles away, these gatherings felt like a homecoming. We shared stories, held drawing competitions where children painted their brave journeys, and sat in circles to discuss the "how-tos" of daily management. The Nawabshah event focused on interactive learning, using live demonstrations and practical activities to make diabetes care engaging, while discussions highlighted daily management, family support, and healthy routines.
In Islamabad, we embraced the season together, where little ones bonded over coloring books and art, forming new friendships with others who walk the same path, while parents learned to navigate the unique challenges of blood glucose levels during the cold months. In Kohat, families who arrived shy and overwhelmed slowly opened up, and in that growing comfort a powerful moment came when a participant found the courage to check her own blood glucose for the first time.
